well, you seem to be wanting to hear some tunes. good news! i have some 80-minute (wink wink) playlists that i've curated given some moods. yes, even the order of the songs is meaningful. i'll explain the purpose of each of them.
- baddie in pink: enter the 00's girly boss, all dressed in pink and glitter. these songs drip with female confidence. gone are the days of women being shunned for expressing their femininity in a stereotypical way. this playlist features some of the most iconic divas since the 90's. grab your lipgloss and blow weaponized kisses.
- youth: there's a small alt club that my friends and i like to go to to dance. they play 80's music, from pop to goth. this playlist captures that vibe. add dark eye makeup and black cherry lipstick, take my hand, and come be cool and different with us.
- eternal summer: let's go back to 2018/19, when your heart burned with sadness and anxiety, which means that the happy moments tasted so good. perhaps that is why you remember these times so fondly, despite the pain. you miss the bliss of alcohol and the intoxication of your first love, even if they destroyed you. these were your first high school parties, your first club nights. oh, dear heart, don't fall for the tricks of nostalgia. those nights will never come back, and that's bittersweet. maybe if we listen to this playlist we'll go back to the oasis in the desert of my tumultuous teenage years? i'll pour some drinks and we'll try.
- tumblr grunge: you're edgy, angsty, perhaps you even think you're in love. you count your calories and dream of a thigh gap. it's 2014, and you're lonely and angry and so young, but unknowingly safe. they'll never break you, my brave and passionate child.
- vieja escuela: que te voy a inyectar con la bacteria, pa' que des vueltas como máquina de feria... you're seven years old, autistic, and don't get why someone would inject bacteria into another person. that's what's playing on the radio these days... pure reggaeton. your parents despise it, but there's no escaping it. wide-eyed, you watch the ladies twerking in the music videos. it's going to be a few years until you understand that this is the sound of latin america, and you'll even enjoy it.
- yearbook: the sun is setting on the year 2020. existence feels like floating in a vast, overwhelming ocean, far away from every soul. it's quieter than at the beginning of this year, but the ache is still there. you're convinced that you're dead. maybe you were a groupie who overdosed in a hotel room; that's why you feel an uncomfortable connection to the 90s. back in elementary school, while browsing the archives in the library, you saw a decade-old yearbook. there was a ghost in every picture. perhaps a ghost named jeremy.
- go white boy go! (under construction): play some xbox, spike of your hair! stop listening to male podcasters and get. on. your. skateboard. even if you're very weird and your hygiene is questionable, you're nice.
it's fine if you're more old-school. i also have some cd's and there's always the radio.
